A new plan for Kangaroo Island

A new plan for Kangaroo Island

Developing a new plan for the way we manage Kangaroo Island’s Landscape will be one of the first priorities of the new KI Landscape Board. Much of KI was heavily impacted by the bushfires in the summer of 2019/20 and addressing the recovery needs for habitat, wildlife and communities across the island will be a key consideration for the board.

The Kangaroo Island Strategic Natural Resources Management (KI NRM) Plan 2017-2027 that was developed by the former NRM Board will provide the framework for the new KI Landscape Board to consider when developing a new plan for the island. This plan set the strategic direction for managing the Island’s landscape for the benefit of the community and its environmental, cultural, social and economic future.

The Kangaroo Island Landscape Business Plan 2020/21 – 2023/23 outlines the anticipated income and expenditure of the KI Landscape Board for the period, details the Board’s Implementation Plan for the 2020-2021 financial year, and includes the Board’s Water Affecting Activities Policy for water resources management on the Island.
